Carlos Daniel

Colorado native and former Washington State standout Carlos Daniel coached one season with the Northern Colorado men's basketball team in 2006-07. Daniel also served as varsity assistant coach at Centauarus high school prior to taking a position at Northern Colorado. Daniel has always wanted mentor and help young men in his community obtain their goals academically and athletically; through Trinity SAS he able do this.

Daniel, a native of Boulder, Colo., played high school basketball at Fairview High in Boulder, graduating in 1994. At Fairview he was a three-year letter winner and captained the Knights each of his final two seasons. He earned all-state honors his senior season after averaging 18.6 points and 10.5 rebounds per game and repeated that feat as a senior when he averaged 21.9 points and 15 rebounds per contest. Daniel earned McDonalds, Super Prep and BCI All-American honors following his senior season.

Daniel played at Washington State from 1995-98 and finished his career second in career blocked shots (136) and became the first Cougar to lead WSU in blocked shots for four consecutive seasons. He also finished in WSU's career top 10 in rebounds (sixth), field goal percentage (seventh), minutes played (eighth), points (ninth) and field goals (ninth). His senior season he averaged 16.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, the highest rebounding average by a Washington State player in 18 years, on his way to first-team All-Pac-10 honors.

Daniel also got the job done in the classroom, earning third-team CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-American honors in both 1996-97 and 1997-98. He was also named to the Pac-10 All-Academic squad as well as winning the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award.

Following his college career Daniel played professionally in the CBA (Yakima Sun Kings and Rockford Lightning), IBL (Sioux Falls Skyforce), as well as internationally in Japan (Hitachi Sunrockers), Israel (Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion), Australia (Townsville Crocodiles) and France (Angers). Daniel last played with the Yakima Sun Kings in 2004-05, when he was selected to the CBA All-Star Game. Outside of his duties with Trinity Daniel currently works as a personal and performance trainer at FORZA fitness and performance club in downtown Denver.

Daniel received his degree in history from Washington State in 1998.

Daniel lives in Westminster Colorado and has a teenage son, Michael Hagan-Daniel.

Daniel was a standout hoopster at Washington State.
